#MeToo erupts

The New York Times and The New Yorker published parallel investigations into Harvey Weinstein's decades of sexual abuse in the film industry. Within days actresses began naming names, and within weeks women across industries worldwide adopted the hashtag #MeToo to share their own stories. A great unspoken structure of male impunity began, in some places, to crack.
