Rohingya cleansed from Rakhine
August 25, 2017
Myanmar's military, citing insurgent attacks, began burning Rohingya villages and shooting fleeing Muslims in a systematic campaign across Rakhine State. Within weeks more than 700,000 had crossed into Bangladesh, walking through monsoon mud with what they could carry. The UN called it textbook ethnic cleansing. Aung San Suu Kyi defended her generals at The Hague.
