AfD becomes Germany's largest opposition party

Germany's federal election returned the CDU/CSU to first place and left the far-right Alternative fuer Deutschland as the second-largest force in the Bundestag. Mainstream parties refused to govern with AfD, but its result showed how far the party had moved into the center of national politics.
