Game Boy released
1989
Nintendo released a small gray handheld console with a greenish screen and a cartridge slot, bundling it with a Russian puzzle game called Tetris. Office workers and schoolchildren around the world became helpless addicts of falling blocks. Nintendo sold over a hundred million Game Boys. Video games had reached the pocket.
