Stalin's funeral kills hundreds

As millions of Muscovites pushed through snowy streets to view Stalin's body lying in state, the crowds crushed against each other in narrow alleys. Perhaps five hundred were trampled to death. The dictator killed people even in his funeral. Russians looked around at each other and began to imagine a future that did not include him.
